Safety on the Cachin' Trail
Fellow 'cacher and blogger Johnygeo has some wonderful points about safety, particularly around electrical outlets, lights and boxes.
Like treasure hunting and high-tech gadgetry? Then geocaching is the obsession...er....hobby for you. And if you take up 'caching on the Central Coast, you're going to get The Itch, poison oak. But what's a little itch between friends?
The Poison Oak Cachers was created by local cachers to share their knowledge, build friendships, gather for group cache hunts and generally promote safe and responsible geocaching techniques.
All it takes to become a member is to attend one of our informal meetings. This is a fun, family sport. Just go to Geocaching.com for information about Geocaching and to register as a user.
How We Got Our Name - On November 7, 2004 we had a picnic ( What's Our Name Picnic Event at Atascadero Park hosted by Geo_cats. There, the 34-member club voted on a new name and Reluctant Observer's off-the-cuff suggestion was the winner.
We have the itch to go 'cachin' and we're not ashamed to spread it!
